Pattaya Music Festival
Music lovers all over Thailand assemble in Pattaya for Pattaya Music
Festival and dance on the white sands of the sprawling beaches of
Pattatya. Young and old dance to the beats of the rock bands. Jazz and
pop are part of the music festival. Held generally in the month of March
every year, Pattaya Music Festival is organized in evening. Tourists
take part actively in hip-hop dances of the crowd. Apart from music,
other events like procession in the streets of Pattaya are also held.
Pattaya Marathon
People of Pattaya love to take part in Pattaya marathon, generally held
in July. The marathon is tough as it runs along hill terrains thus
making it unsuitable for the weak hearted. One has to run along the
scenic beach which adds to the excitement. Half-marathon and Quarter
Marathon are other marathon events in Pattaya. International runners as
well as locals participate in these events. that encourages
participation from international standard runners and locals.
Bang Saen Speed Festival
Bang Saen Speed Festival is the biggest event in the motor sports
history of Thailand. Held at the end of every year, Bangsaen Speed
Festival is an international street circuit. The event offers the best
of drivers, teams and racing cars. The event has class racing cars like
Formula BMW Asia and Formula Renault. Motorbike sports are also held.

Chonburi
Buffalo Race
This annual event, held in October or November, has water buffaloes
racing. In the festival, water buffaloes and the jockeys are decorated
with colourful cloth bands, flower garlands and other ornaments before
competing to win the race. The jockeys ride the bareback buffalos.
Events like buffalo fancy dressing contest, the healthy buffalo contest
and Miss Farmer Pageant are also held. Indigenous culture of the region
can be seen in the event.
Wan Lai Festival
Pattaya City holds its Songkran asWan Lai festival annually in April
with activities like water pouring. Fragrant water is put on elders
hands. Procession are taken by the youth which are drowsed in water by
the people standing on their balconies. This is fun time for Thais and
foreigners alike. The festival comes as a respite from the heat. Wan Lai
can be translated as flowing day.
Ancestral Spirits Ceremony Festival
Practised in Sriracha, this event is held every year between in April.
Activities include a parade by the elderly group and personnel from
different government agencies, dressed in conventional folk costumes,
ceremonies for the appeasement of the spirits and demonstration of Kong
Khao or rice piling. Folk games are played, local arts items are
demonstrated and local delicacies are sold.
Boon Klang Ban
This festival is held during the 3rd to the 6th month of the Thai lunar
calendar. One of the village elders determines a day for merit making
and the ridding of ill luck for the well-being of the locals. Religious
ceremonies are held and folk games are enjoyed. These are followed by
sharing of meals.
