Pattaya, most famous tourist resort of Thailand, sits on the eastern coastline of
Thailand's Gulf of Siam and is approximately 140 km southeast of the
capital city of Bangkok. Pattaya region can be segregated into four
parts: Central Pattaya, North Pattaya, South Pattaya and Jomtien Beach.
Our tourism map of Pattaya would be helpful to you in locating
accommodation, sightseeing, dining and activities places in Pattaya.
South Pattaya
South Pattaya is the busiest place in the region. Tourists can browse
amidst the endless little shops offering fast tailoring services, sports
goods, jewelry and souvenirs. Bars are numerous as are the seafood
restaurants. Pleasant surroundings enhance the taste of food here.
Walking Street of South Pattaya is a famous place. Arthachinda Road
effectively marks the boundary of South Pattaya.
Central Pattaya
In Central Pattaya, hotels are not so grand, the restaurants smaller
and the bars not-so-funkier. There are plenty of tailor shops as well as
and some go-go bars. Presence of Pattaya police station, and the
Immigration Office makes the region important. Two famous shopping
malls, the Royal Garden Plaza and Mike's Place, are also in Central
Pattaya. A tourist police office is also located here. Second Road has
many bars and restaurants, and a couple of dive shops.
North Pattaya
In North Pattaya, one can have a pleasant stroll along the bayfront.
The region has still an air of old days and one can see wooden houses
and narrow streets. An amble through the streets will reveal plenty of
little shops selling handicrafts and domestic goods.
Jomtein Beach
Jomtein Beach is divided from the rest of Pattaya by the hill which
rises to the back of South Pattaya. The beach is popular for windsurfing
and other water sports, largely because the area enjoys brisk and fresh
breezes sweeping inland from the Thai Gulf. There are several beachside
hotels, bungalow complexes, condominiums and restaurants.
