Weather of Pattaya

Seasons in Pattaya
Warm and dry November to February
Hot and humid March to May
Rainy June to October

Pattaya, like other regions of Thailand, has tropical weather which could be segregated into three seasons. For most part of the year, climate is hot and humid and it gets tough for the foreign tourists and locals alike to come out in the open under the sun.

Tourist Season in Pattaya
Tourist season in Pattaya falls from November to February. Most international tourists in Pattaya come to Pattaya during these months. This is the tourist season in Pattaya because foreign tourists feel comfortable in warm and dry climate.

Monsoon Rain in Pattaya
Pattaya receives rainfall between May to October. Rainfall is heavy although it is for short time. Usually it does not rain more than one hour in a day. It is rare when rain falls all day and night. Going deep into the sea in the rainy season could be dangerous for if it starts raining, you could find it difficult to return to coast.

Avoid Visiting Pattaya in Monsoon
One is advised to avoid visiting Pattaya during the rainy season. You would have very little to do away from the beaches. Moving around in rains would also be difficult. You would also not enjoy shopping in rains. Most shopkeepers in Pattaya are from other regions of Thailand. During the rainy season, they return to their native places for it is not the tourist season.

Rain dampens down the heat for a bit, but humidity could become unpleasant after some time. While temperatures are low (in 30s) in the rainy season, the humidity factor reaches high level of 90 per cent. Mosquitoes also cause serious problem. Streets flood during heavy rainfall and they could take time to clear.

What to Do When It Rains
Your boss is ready to grant you leave between the months of June to October, and you have no other choice but to visit Pattaya during the rainy season. Ok. We have some tips for that season too. If you are out of your hotel and it starts raining, just stop wherever you are. At theatre, cinema hall, club…whatever it is. Even the locals don't try to brave torrential rains. Just wait for the clouds to leave. When the rain has stopped, come out and restart whatever you were doing.
